PowerPoint views
In PowerPoint, there are SIX different VIEWS, or ways to look at a presentation: Slide View, Slide Sorter View, Outline View, Notes Pages View, Handout View, and Slide Show View.
NOTE: PowerPoint also has Master views, which are used to format all the slides in a presentation uniformly.
SLIDE VIEW shows the actual slides, one at a time, with objects and formatting. Slides can be edited in Slide View.
SLIDE SORTER VIEW shows smaller versions of all the slides together on one page. Slides can be selected in Slide Sorter View, to be formatted, copied, or used in a Slide Show.
OUTLINE VIEW shows the slide show in the form of an outline, with each slide represented as one 'Roman Numeral' of the outermost level. Slide text can be edited in Outline View.
NOTES PAGES VIEW shows the notes taken before, after, or during a slide show. Notes can be added in Notes Pages View.
HANDOUT VIEW shows the handouts the presenter is planning to pass out to the audience during the presentation. Handouts can be edited in Handout View.
SLIDE SHOW VIEW shows the slide show. Slides cannot be edited while a Slide Show is running; however, various slide show controls can be used to take notes, set and record timings, branch to other slides, presentations, or objects, and other tasks that need to be done during a Slide Show.
